Our Physician
DaJonitta Richmond, MD
Dr. DaJonitta L. Richmond is a physician, educator, and empowerment enthusiast who is dedicated to helping as many people, families, and organizations as possible become the best versions of themselves.
Dr. Richmond is a native of the greater Houston area. She attended Xavier University of Louisiana and graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in 2011. She obtained her Medical Degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch in 2016 and completed her Adult Psychiatry Residency at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas in 2019. She completed one year of subspecialty training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in 2020. She has experience serving patients in psychiatric emergency settings and has also served as a Director of a women’s mental health unit at a behavioral health hospital in Houston, Texas. Because she enjoys serving as a “first responder” to those suffering and experiencing crises, Dr. Richmond continues to contract at different hospitals to provide care for those with emergent psychiatric needs.
Dr. Richmond is devoted to helping people obtain freedom in their minds, as well as health in their brains and bodies, so that they can experience greater fulfillment throughout all aspects of life. She loves equipping individuals to reach their fullest potential. She is committed to improving the wellness of individuals, marriages, families, and organizations, so that communities can thrive and have a greater daily impact in making this world a healthier place.
When Dr. Richmond is not providing clinical care, she is prioritizing restfulness, self-care, and quality time with her family. Some of her hobbies include visiting different parks around the city to walk and enjoy nature, listening to music, singing, dancing, reading, writing, fishing, traveling, and going to beaches. One of her favorite things to do is to find funny short videos on social media, to provoke deep laughter! She has a saved list of funny reels and will often rewatch these same clips when she desires a good laugh. Additionally, she leads an online women’s community, and loves participating in community events as well as serving at her local church.

Q: Do I need to be a Christian to see you? Will I be treated or evaluated any differently?
This is a very commonly asked question. Check out this video to see how Dr. Richmond likes to bring understanding to this concern.
“When you experience freedom in your mental health, your entire perception of life changes. You can finally recognize and appreciate beauty. You smile and laugh for no reason at all. And you begin to fall in love with yourself and the life you’ve been given. I want everyone to understand what this feels like.”
